Peruvian Food with a Sunset View Will Do!
We landed in Lima late in the afternoon. The sunset was like no other I’ve witnessed in my lifetime. However, I only got a glimpse of this incredibly strange and ominous-looking sunset because piled high suitcases in the van were blocking my camera’s eye. No worries. There will be at least another 34 just like it during the five weeks I’ll be here.
Rumor has it that Peru is the ‘food junkie’ capital of the world. All street vendors and top notch restaurateurs boast dishes worthy of a taste test. Influenced by the Incans, Spanish, Asians and Africans, a food ‘melting pot’ has been established through integration, sharing and seeking a common objective – feeding Peruvians and her guests the tastiest food on the planet. Most agree that that goal has been accomplished.
Early Tip: The worst insult a visitor can commit in this country is complaining about the cuisine. Even the locals know better.
