Let me introduce myself

My name is Michael Lenhart, a lifelong resident of Oregon. I am a Father of five extraordinary, beautiful and talented daughters and grandfather to eight equally as gifted and amazing grandchildren.

How fortunate I was to spend my career as an educator, serving students and school communities as a 4th-6th grade teacher, an interim K-5 counselor, K-5 Media Specialist, high school journalism teacher, and coach of various sports at all levels, K-12. I earned my bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education at Portland State University and Eastern Oregon University respectively.

I am a published author of a variety of educational games and activities and was a visiting instructor at four Oregon and Washington State universities. Over 1500 educators attended a variety of my graduate level course offerings related to language arts, learning centers’ design, and educational games’ development.

My hobbies include, listening to ‘60’s and ‘70’s rock and funk, writing, fishing, coaching, golfing (35+ handicap), traveling, and hanging out with family... not necessarily in that order.

Follow Along on My Journey…

I began my nomadic lifestyle in the summer of 2017. Over the next five years, I visited nearly 30 states and multiple countries in Europe and South America for the first time. The Oregon Coast, Canby and Beaverton became my short term residences after the start of the pandemic. Since putting everything back in storage last September, I’ve landed on 20 additional countries in Europe, the Caribbean and Eastern Asia. As of this update, my grand total is 47 countries visited. My goal by year’s end is 70… and becoming a member of the top 1% of world travelers! So follow along on my journey…
